Prof Saibal Ghosh was the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering IIEST, Shibpur formerly known as Bengal Engineering College Shibur, Howrah from 2005 to 2008 and was Bijay-Asu chair Professor / Visiting Professor till his retirement from .service on 31.12.2018
Dr Ghosh has supervised a good number of PhD and more than 100 Masters and in numerous BTech research projects. During his association with the Civil Engineering Department he had lead a lot of Prestigious Projects like Kolghat Thermal Power, Bakreswar Thermal Power including Technical Building for WBPDCIL etc as consultant. Dr, Ghosh is considered as one of the pioneer in the field of Modern Structural Design of Microwave Towers. Dr. Ghosh is presently associated with Structural consultancy projects like 152.5m High Bellilus Park Tower, 24 Storeys Helipad Platform at Howrah and Extension of Dumurjala Stadium.
